Make your course available to students

For students to receive your Announcements and see your course content, you will need to publish your course and the items you want them to see. Also, you'll need to be sure the course start date and the sections dates are not in the future.

 

 

• From the Canvas Dashboard, click on the name of your course.

• Click Home on the course menu.

• In the Course Status section, click Publish.
  • Depending on the size of your screen, your Course Status section could be on the right hand side of your page or toward the bottom of the page.

• Once your course is published, students can view published items within your course.

Start Dates

The start date for all TC Canvas courses is set for  two weeks before the official start of the semester. Students cannot receive Announcements or see course content before the course and section start dates. If you would like your students to receive your announcements or see your course content before that date, you can change the start dates Links to an external site..
