Program Overview

This Teachers Supporting Teachers series is a cohesive course consisting of two workshops aimed to equip K-12 educators with practical tools and strategies for integrating AI into their teaching practices while promoting student wellbeing. The purpose of this course is to provide teachers who are seeking CTLE credits a space to upload their artifacts and fill out the program evaluation form.

Note: You must upload the required materials listed below to this course to receive your 6 CTLE credits.

Objectives

Oct 12: AI in Education: Utilizing AI in Your Teaching Practices

Participants will:

  • Understand the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in education.
  • Explore various AI tools and platforms that can enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Develop strategies for integrating AI into classroom practices to support personalized learning and administrative efficiency.
  • Evaluate the ethical considerations and challenges associated with using AI in educational settings.
  • Create a plan to implement AI-based solutions in your teaching practices to improve student engagement and outcomes.

December 7: Technology & Wellbeing in the age of AI

Participants will:

  • Explore the relationship between technology use and student wellbeing, including the potential benefits and risks.
  • Identify strategies to promote healthy technology habits among students and educators, including the use of AI tools to support these habits.
  • Learn about digital tools and AI-powered resources that support mental health and wellbeing in the classroom.
  • Develop a comprehensive approach to balancing technology integration with the promotion of physical and emotional wellbeing in students, utilizing AI to enhance monitoring and support.
  • Create an action plan for incorporating wellbeing practices into your technology usage policies and classroom routines, with a focus on leveraging AI for ongoing assessment and improvement.

Teachers Supporting Teachers is heading into its third year of programming. Inviting K-12 educators to gather, reflect upon their instructional journeys, and discover meaningful ways to infuse technology into their everyday lessons and curriculum.The focus of this year's sessions will be AI in Education: how it impacts your teaching, how to integrate it into your classroom in a meaningful way, and what issues educators face when tackling the topic of artificial intelligence.
