Exporting your Data (Win)

 

  • In order to export, click on the Share ribbon, and within the Export group, you will see the various ways to export data.

 

 

  • Click Export Codebook in order to export a codebook to share a list of your nodes and their description.

 

 

  • A pop-up will then appear for you to save the codebook. Click the Browse button to change the name of the codebook by typing the new name in the File name: text box. You can also choose in what format you want the exported codebook to be saved as in the Save as type: drop-down selection between MS Word, MS Excel, or Codebook Exchange Standard. Then, select where you would like the codebook to be saved.
 
 
  • Click Save.
 
 
  • Check the box next to Include number of files and references if you would like to include the number of files and references for each node. Once you have finished, click OK.
 
 
  • To export one item, click on the item you want to export. Then, click on the Share ribbon, within the Export group, click Export to export the selected items.

 

 

  • To export multiple items, click on one item you want to export. Then, hold down Ctrl and select the other items you want to export. Then, click on the Share ribbon, within the Export group, click Export to export the selected project items.

 

 
  • A pop-up will then appear for you to select your export options, file type, and what you may want to includeTo change the folder location, click on Browse.
 
 
  • Choose the location you want the folder to be exported to and click OK.

 

 

  • Then click OK to export your item(s).
 
 
  • You can export lists displayed in List View or Detail View. For example, a list of set members displayed in List View, or a list of coding references displayed on the node summary tab in Detail View.

 

  • You can export a list to a variety of file types; Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), OpenDocument Text (.odt) and plain text (.txt).

 

  • To export a list, click on the list you want to export. Then, click on the Share ribbon, within the Export group, click Export List.
 
 
  • A pop-up will then appear for you to save the list. In File name: enter the name you would like to save the list as. You can also change the file type by clicking the drop-down menu next to Save as type: Finally, select the location of where you want the list to be saved.
 
 
  • Then, click Save.
 
 
  • If you have information about your sources or cases stored as classification attribute values in your project, you can export this data.
  • Click on the classification you want to export. Then, click on the Share ribbon, within the Export group, and click Export.
 
 
  • A pop-up will then appear for you to export the Classification Sheets. You can select what file type you would like the sheets exported to MS Excel (.xlsx, .xls), SPSS (.sav), or Tab Separated Text File (.txt). You can also specify the item name format, attribute value format, dates, times and numbers if you would like.

 

 

  • To change the name, click on Browse.

 

 

  • In File name: enter the name you would like to save the classification sheets. You can also change the file type by clicking the drop-down menu next to Save as type: Finally, select the location of where you want the list to be saved.

 

 

  • Then, click Save.

 

 

  • Once finished, click OK.
